Am I implementing strategic plans that give me direction for today and increase my potential for tomorrow?
JOHN MAXWELL

Happy Sunday, Heroic!

Michael here. πŸ‘‹

Exciting week!!!

+1s are BACK starting next week! (Read Brian’s announcement here.) πŸŽ‰

If you’ve been missing these as much as I have… πŸ™ŒπŸ”₯πŸ™

And if you’ve only recently joined us, get ready for personal, practical, short-form daily videos from Brian to turbocharge your optimizing and actualizing.

We also kicked off a new, twice-a-year CEO update on the state of our Heroic, Public Benefit Corporation.

And launched a revamped Heroic training platform. (More on that below.)

Plus welcomed two more brilliant guest faculty for our Heroic OS+ members. (World-class coach Carolyn Freyer Jones, and Growth.com CEO Ethan Willis, check out his new book, Humble Power.)

And…

In this week’s new Philosophers Note, we learned from Bob Bowman, the coach who saw Michael Phelps' potential at eleven years old and then spent decades helping him actualize it.

Fun: Check out this post from Brian, who recently joined Bob and George Mumford on a round table podcast for The Inner Game.

The Note is packed with goodness.

For now, let’s explore two facets of Bob’s framework: set an inspiring vision and live the vision every day.

“The vision must inspire you. It should be exciting and emotional; it should speak to your heart as well as your mind. The mental picture of your achieving it should give you goosebumps. Yes, it can be far off, maybe a little vague. But what it can't be is tedious, routine, the same old."

So... what's yours?

What’s the one goal that gives you goosebumps?

Here’s what to do with it:

"It's pretty simple: The more consistency you bring to your daily work, the more predictable your success will be, whether you're chasing football titles, Olympic medals, or wins in your day-to-day life."

Phelps didn't win 23 gold medals on vision alone. He won them on a Game Plan lived every single day.

That's the whole Method, really. A vision that moves you. Disciplines that move you toward it.

So, again…

What's the big vision?

And what are the daily disciplines that serve it?

Wishing you and yours a week full of goosebumps.

Day 1. All in. Let's go.

-Michael

P.S. No matter what your goal, Heroic should be on your daily list.

Plus, the app just shipped new Quests, streaks, and your Performance & Flourishing score... a simple way to measure progress.

New on Philosopher's Notes TV

This week, Brian is back at the chalkboard to explore The Golden Rules by Bob Bowman.

What if achieving world-class excellence isn't about natural talent, but about the commitment to a vision and a game plan? In this episode, Brian explores how the legendary swim coach behind Michael Phelps used a 10-rule method to forge the most decorated Olympian in history. You'll discover why setting high, hard goals, executing a daily protocol with uncompromising consistency, and bringing art and beauty to your craft matters far more than coasting on potential, and how these simple principles can transform your work and life.
