PN | Weekly #3: February 22nd
“Can I promise you that if you think big, you'll accomplish every single thing you set out to do? No. That's not reality. But thinking big will take you further than you could possibly go by thinking small. It will get you as close to your maximum potential as possible, which is how I define winning.”DARRIN DONNELLY, from Think Big to Win Big |
Philosopher-Heroes!
I hope you had another GREAT week!
Here’s the quick recap of new Notes from last week and a quick preview of next week’s wisdom goodness.
First, exciting news: I’m planning to hit the new PNTV studio this week (!) to create a new batch of PNTVs on all the new Notes I’m creating. Might be thinking about seeing if we can ship a new PNTV every day for 300 days in a row starting March 6th. 🤫
Will share links to those when they’re released!
Now…
The recap…
Last week we featured:
Think Big to Win Big by Darrin Donnelly. This is the EIGHTH book in his “Sports for the Soul” series. I’m a HUGE fan. If you or a loved one are sports fans but not that into self-development, I HIGHLY recommend you check out the Notes (and share them with a dude or three)! (lol)
How to Know a Person by David Brooks. I’m a BIG fan of David Brooks and his wisdom (see Notes on The Road to Character and The Second Mountain) and who doesn’t want to know how to know a person?! 🤓
The Power of Regret by Dan Pink. As. you may have noticed, life isn’t all sunshine and roses. Dan walks us through the SCIENCE of using regret to to create a better life. (Life-changing goodness!)
The Forever Strong Playbook by Gabrielle Lyon. I LOVE Gabrielle. She’s a soul sister and one of my go-to nutrition gurus. This book and her first one (Forever Strong) is brilliant. Quick q: How’s your protein intake? You focusing on building muscle more than losing fat? If not… GET ON THAT!
How Life Imitates Chess by Garry Kasparov. As you know if you’ve been following along, we’re a chess family. Emerson wants to be (and is working hard to become!) a Grandmaster. This book is fantastic. Super fun to share our chess journey and how life imitates chess!
Supercommunicators by Charles Duhigg. After you learn how to get to know someone, might as well learn how to be a Supercommunicator, eh? Charles Duhigg is brilliant. So is this book.
Wow.
That’s a LOT of (potentially life-changing!) wisdom in there.

“In case you're still harboring any doubts, it's time to accept the reality that pursuing an "easy" life is a delusion laced with complacency and unmet dreams. If you chose the "easy" path, life with end up hard; if you choose the hard path, life will wind up easy. I'm here to show you the way forward.”DR. GABRIELLE LYON, from The Forever Strong Playbook |
